Gherian Foster

Gherian “G” Foster is a black, nonbinary individual born and raised in Schenectady, NY. They are founder of Be A Leader Youth Group and cofounder of Black Abolitionist Directive, and Catering with Kindness. G has been organizing for and beside black and brown youth for over 19 years. They have hosted black youth empowerment workshops throughout the years, teaching young black people to public speak, fundraise, research, budget, create, give back to their communities and practice self love. Outside of their dedicated work for young people, G organizes for abolition, decarceration, racial equity in public schooling, ending the school to prison pipeline, and BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ rights and liberation. G has organized community events and fund raised for local grassroot organizations. They have collaborated with many coalitions in the capital region to end police brutality and change legislation surrounding it.
