Kasey Charles

Kasey Charles is a Black Trans Man originally from Baltimore, Maryland. He is the Co-founder of The Black Abolitionist Directive and Foster Truth Consulting agency. With more than 12 years of experience in organizing and community based work, Kasey has been a fierce advocate for Abolition, Decarceration, and BIPOC and  LGBTQIA+* rights and liberation. From 2016 to 2019, he worked directly with lawmakers to pass the GENDA laws, working to ensure protections for TransGNC people. He has worked with many organizers nationwide behind Black and LGBTQIA+* liberation, and in 2020 he co-founded The Black Abolitionist Directive. He has done numerous direct actions against Police Brutality in NYS, Washington DC, Maryland, and many other states in the US - and has done immense work with victims and survivors of state sanctioned violence. He is a published poet and artist, and was featured in a 2022 documentary about Black and Trans Liberation. His recent work in making health care accessible in BIPOC communities and his work in Abolition and DEI education is tied directly with his grassroots organizing with numerous coalitions of Black organizers in the Capital Region.
